My favorite car for many years has been the Corvette, and I especially like the 2016 Stingray. I know that when most people think of automotive elegance, the Corvette is probably not the first car that jumps to mind; the Aston Martin, Mercedes-Benz, or Cadillac are the usual suspects. And I wouldn’t argue the point with you; each of these are beautiful automobiles.
However, when I think of elegance, I always think in terms of the way something moves. And if you watch a Corvette in action, it’s hard to deny that the designers were very intentional about every aspect of the car. There’s a certain grace and beauty to the way the Stingray seems to glide along the ground and around curves.
And the beautiful comfort of the interior complements the exterior design, making the Corvette a joy to drive. (I do have to admit that it can be a bit tight, but I think that’s expected in a sports car.)
What do you think? Am I way off, or am I justified in called the Corvette Stingray one of the most elegant cars out there?
